Meet Katia Farina — Portrait & Elopement Photographer in Vancouver, BC
I’m Katia Farina, an outdoor portrait and elopement photographer originally from Lake Como, Italy, now based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
I specialize in couples sessions, intimate elopements, and nature-inspired portraits across Whistler, the Fraser Valley, Vancouver Island, and beyond.
With a background in design and fashion, I’ve always been drawn to beauty, composition, and storytelling.
In 2020, I fully embraced photography and professional editing, blending my creative eye with a deep love of nature. Inspired by Renaissance art, romance novels, and breathtaking landscapes, I create elegant, evocative photographs shaped by natural light and Pacific Northwest scenery.
As an experienced traveler and hiker, I’m always scouting new locations so every session feels genuinely one of a kind. I work in English, Italian, French, and Arabic — meeting clients in the language they feel most themselves in.
Beyond the camera, I find joy in cooking traditional Italian recipes and sewing, sometimes personalizing a dress or detail to add an artistic touch to a session.
I’m often joined by my partner, Amine Dyane — we met in London in 2018 over a shared love of hiking, wildlife, and Studio Ghibli films. He’s usually the one behind a second camera capturing me at work, and he’s available on request for couples and elopements wanting videography alongside their photos.
Meet Amine Dyane
Amine Dyane is my partner — both in life and often behind the second camera.
He picked up videography in 2022, drawn to creating cinematic travel documentaries across BC and beyond, and he’s usually the one capturing the landscapes and quiet moments I don’t always catch myself — his Sony A7S III always close by.
When he’s not filming, Amine is training for Spartan races and triathlons, or deep in a book on self-improvement. That same discipline carries into his work — he’s available on request for couples and elopements who’d love a short cinematic film alongside their photos.
