Elopement Photographer in Vancouver, BC & Beyond

Hi, I’m Katia Farina.

I’m a professional photographer based in Vancouver, specializing in intimate elopement portraits set against nature’s most stunning backdrops — where breathtaking landscapes become part of your love story, not just the setting for it.

Originally from Italy, I’ve lived and traveled across Europe, North Africa, and beyond, and that instinct for discovery is exactly what I bring to your elopement: a knack for finding the secluded, off-the-beaten-path places where a ceremony feels like it belongs to no one but you.

Alongside my husband and videographer, Amine Dyane, we work with couples in English, Italian, French, and Arabic — wherever your elopement takes us.

Curious what that looks like in practice? Keep scrolling.

Why Couples Choose Me as Their Elopement Photographer

1. I take finding your place seriously.

Scouting isn’t a checklist for me — it’s about finding somewhere that feels like you, close to home or far from it, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that magical feeling, because this is the place where you’ll exchange your vows and make your promises to each other.

2. One booking, two services, no coordination headache.

Hire me and you get direct access to a filmmaker too — when it’s needed, I collaborate with my husband and partner, videographer Amine Dyane. Because we already work together, communication between photo and video is seamless, and we can shape both services around one unified style instead of two vendors pulling in different directions. That also means one quote, not two separate invoices to juggle.

3. One service, four languages.

I provide your elopement photography in English, Italian, French, or Arabic — so if you’re a native speaker of any of these, the experience feels natural, not translated. And because we speak these languages, eloping abroad comes with almost none of the usual friction.

Jen & Thomas's Story

Jen and Thomas reached out because they wanted to elope in the woods — a ceremony that was down to earth, simple, and full of meaning. They chose me because they knew I could capture romantic moments in natural light, in a way that felt true to who they were as a couple.

As we started planning, I learned Jen was expecting. Suddenly this elopement wasn’t only a wedding to each other — it was a promise made to their little boy too, present through every word, every vow, every moment of love.

For the setting, we found something close to home: Pacific Spirit Regional Park in Vancouver, a forest laced with narrow trails and quiet corners waiting to be discovered. After exploring a few different spots together, we found the one that felt like theirs, and with a few simple arrangements, it became a ceremony space that felt like it had always belonged there.

“Working with Katia is such a wonderful experience. She has an incredible eye for capturing whimsical beauty in natural settings. Her photos look like a fairytale and when I saw our wedding pictures, I actually gasped at how happy I felt with the way she made me look. You can feel the raw emotion and love of our precious moments, and there’s an elegance she brings to the images with how she works with the light to make you shine. I’d highly recommend choosing Katia for your special day, whatever the occasion – you’ll be thrilled with what you see and how you’ll feel during the process.
Thank you for everything!”
