Mother-to-Be photography session

Pregnancy moves fast and changes constantly, which is exactly why it’s worth pausing here, in this specific week, before it becomes memory instead of moment. An outdoor maternity session gives that pause somewhere to happen — nature moving at its own unhurried pace alongside you, instead of a studio backdrop rushing you through it.

As a professional outdoor photographer based in British Columbia, I guide expectant mothers through calm, unrushed sessions in forests, along the coast, and in quiet natural settings, shaped around your comfort, your mobility, and how you want to remember this stage of your life.

Keep reading to see what a session includes, what to expect, and how to get started.

Why Document Your Pregnancy in Nature

  • Comfort shaped around your body: Sessions move at your pace, with rest built in and posing that works with where you are physically, not against it.
  • A keepsake for someone who isn’t here yet: These images aren’t only for you. One day, they become part of your child’s own story too.
  • A season that only happens once: Every pregnancy is different, and this one won’t come again. Nature gives it a setting as memorable as the moment itself.

What a Full Maternity Session Includes

Every session is built around your comfort, from the first conversation to the final gallery:

  • A pre-session consultation to talk through your vision, comfort level, and any physical considerations for the day
  • Access to a curated selection of outdoor locations across British Columbia, chosen for beauty, accessibility, and the season you’re shooting in
  • A guided session with posing direction and breaks built in, at whatever pace feels right for you
  • A professionally edited, high-resolution gallery, ready for print and for sharing

Becoming a Mother: Sofia's Story

This story is about a mother-to-be who wanted to feel completely at ease — and a session that met her exactly there.

Sofia, originally from Italy and now based in Vancouver, was looking for a photographer who could make her feel comfortable through every part of the experience.

Being able to speak Italian together turned out to matter more than either of us expected, it meant she could express herself in her own language from the very first conversation, and that ease carried through the whole session.

After talking through outfits and locations ahead of time, she came prepared with three complete outfit changes, which let us create three distinctly different moods within the same location — a full, varied gallery without ever having to travel between spots.

Throughout the afternoon, what stood out most wasn’t the styling or the setting, though — it was watching her and her partner already becoming parents before their baby had even arrived, tender and attentive with each other in a way that will define this whole chapter.

“We recently had a maternity photo and video shoot with Katia and Amine and it was an amazing experience. They were extremely professional. They gave us plenty of guidance and looked after us through each phase. What made it even more special was that they speak multiple languages so I was able to speak in my first language and felt at ease right away. They not only delivered beautiful pictures and video but also create a supportive, relaxed and personalized session. Thank you for capturing these unforgettable moments of our life so beautifully!”
