Outdoor Portrait Photographer Vancouver | Natural Light Sessions
I photograph outdoors, letting natural light and the landscape shape each portrait rather than the other way around.
Every location is scouted ahead of time — often revisited more than once — so I already know how the light moves through it before your session begins.
In our hour together, we’ll move through a few nearby spots, so your gallery has real variety instead of one repeated backdrop.
I shoot with a Sony a7C and a range of focal lengths, from wide landscape shots to close, intimate portraits — so every session captures both the place and the person.
I work in nature, forests, coastlines, open fields, giving you space to relax, connect, and let the moment happen naturally.
Find the Right Session
Individuals
A portrait that’s about you: a milestone, a new chapter, or simply wanting images that feel like your own.
Couples
Celebrating an engagement, anniversary, or simply your relationship, outdoors and unposed.
Expecting Mothers
Documenting this season with images that feel gentle and unrushed.
Families
Natural, candid portraits together, in a setting that feels like an adventure rather than a photoshoot.
Outdoor vs. Studio: Why Shoot Outside
- No backdrop looks the same twice. Every outdoor location has its own light, texture, and mood — nothing repeats the way a studio backdrop does session after session.
- Golden hour can’t be replicated indoors. Natural light at the right time of day creates a softness and depth that studio lighting only imitates.
- You move like yourself, not like you’re posing. Real ground, wind, and space invite natural motion — walking, laughing, leaning into someone — instead of held studio poses.
- The place becomes part of your story. A studio is neutral by design; a real location adds meaning, especially if it’s somewhere you already love.
What to Expect From Your Portrait Session
- A guided, relaxed process: from prep tips to posing direction, you’re never left guessing what to do.
- A fully edited, ready-to-share gallery: every selected image is professionally retouched and delivered high-resolution.
- A session shaped around you: package and timing flexed to fit what you actually need, not a rigid template.

I’ve put together a complete set of guides covering everything you need, gathered from years of helping clients walk into their sessions feeling ready instead of nervous.
